Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust announces new PhD studentship exploring the identity of Telford and the Ironbridge Gorge

The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust and Keele University, in partnership with the University of Manchester, are pleased to announce a new PhD studentship funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The PhD will explore the identity of Telford and the Ironbridge Gorge from the new town’s launch in 1968 up to the present day.

IHSO Project seeks consultant to carry out survey of England’s industrial heritage sites

Historic England has awarded funding to the Industrial Heritage Support Officer for England (IHSO) project to commission a new survey of the circa 600 industrial heritage sites in England that are open to the public. Applications are now open for consultants to apply to carry out the survey.

Programme announced for L.T.C. Rolt - Life, Work Legacy

To mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the writer and biographer LTC Rolt, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust has partnered with academics from Keele University to organise a conference on 10 May 2024 to celebrate his life and the continuing legacy of his work. This follows the completion, in August 2023, of the cataloguing and digitisation of the Rolt Collection of manuscripts and working papers. The conference programme has now been announced.
